For the last 3 weeks of this half term and for a short while in the summer term we are basing our topic work on this theme. Besides investigating the work of World famous inventors, we are studying electricity in science to link in with the work of may the most famous inventor Thomas Edison and in DT we are becoming civil engineers and designing and making model bridges.
Water is our class topic for this half term. So we will be investigating the watery stuff in science and in geography with lots of practical activities. Copies of the topic curriculum plan, the River research homework sheet and the Spring Term News letter are attached.
Today, 4J reaped the rewards of their hard work. With much excitement we returned to Ross Community Garden to harvest our crop of pumpkins, which we planted back in June, with the help of Tim Shelley and other volunteers from the project. It was a great learning experience, which ended in us selecting the best pumpkin from our plants, to take home. The Community Garden is an inspirational project and involves much more than pumpkins. Tim Shelly also showed us the conservation work they are doing. We even got a chance to take a close up look at colony of rehabilitated wild bees!
