Year Two made some fantastic books using iPads during our ICT time this week. They were asked to create a book that would persuade prospective parents that Ashfield Park is a fantastic school- they did a great job! Take a look at some of their work below....
Following on from this week's meetings, some parents have asked about websites which might help to support learning in Year Two. The following site has links to lots of different websites which you may find useful in supporting your Year Two child:
Year groups across the school enjoyed an interesting workshop where we travelled the world experiencing episodes and cultures from colonial and modern Britain. The children explored moral issues and discussed what life is like in different countries. It was very interesting!
Year Two enjoyed an exciting visit from Arctic explorer Ben Collins on Monday. Ben had visited the Artic and Antarctic many times and he taught us all about his expeditions. We learnt about Inuit communities that live in the Arctic regions; we explored the special kit he needed on his expeditions; we made a blubber glove to examine how marine animals keep and we had a go at printing some Inuit art work! What a fantastic day! Take a look at some of our photographs below. My favourite is Mrs Morgan in the 'dry suit'...
